Healing Meal for Leonard Peltier
Four-Directional Courses for Healing and Empowerment
A powerful culinary representation of Isolation, Resilience, Spiritual Justice, and Artistic Freedom; honoring Leonard Peltier’s journey through 50 years of imprisonment.
Curated by: Chef Ramon Shiloh
I have been invited to prepare a private, healing meal for Leonard Peltier and his family. It’s an honor I never expected. This meal will reflect his journey and the new path he now embarks upon. Through food and storytelling, it will embody resilience, understanding, and the lessons, carried forward through time. Each course will hold deep meaning, honoring the Four Directions in a traditional way. It is my privilege to prepare this meal with care, respect, and love.
Kathy Peltier and her mother, whom I have known since 2005, have invited me into this sacred moment. They will also be present, witnessing the nourishment and restoration this meal intends to bring.
For me, this is an expression of gratitude. After 50 years of imprisonment, being able to provide Leonard Peltier with a home-cooked meal is both an honor and a profound marker in my own journey. However, funding this trip is beyond my means, and Kathy and Anne also face financial and health-related challenges that limit their ability to travel frequently between Sacramento, CA, and North Dakota to be with Leonard.
How You Can Help
To ensure this journey is possible, I am seeking $4,000 to cover:
✅ Round-trip airfare or train travel
✅ Hotel accommodations
✅ Rental car expenses
✅ Food costs and meal preparation for three days
A Token of Gratitude
In appreciation of your generosity, I will be creating a beautiful commemorative card reflecting this journey and the significance of this meal. Every donor’s name will be included on this card, and I will personally mail it to each supporter as a heartfelt thank-you.
To ensure you receive this token of appreciation, please message here (Go Fund Me) with your mailing information. Cards will be sent in early summer.
Should there be any surplus funds, they will be responsibly allocated to support the Peltier family and their needs.
This moment is historic. I pray this meal brings not only nourishment but also healing. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Leonard’s well-being, and I thank you from my heart for your support.
