It is with sorrowful hearts we announce that Lydia Sue Cecil-Ford of Somerville Texas passed away 12/12/2024 at the age of 80 from an assortment of ailments. On March 13th 1943 Lydia was born to Jack and Hyahwanah Cecil ,now passed, in Brenham Texas. She was the first of three children. After battling heath issues Lydia made the move from Dallas Texas where she had resided for 30 years and made the move to Somerville Texas to be near her daughter Theresia Woolsey.
Lydia’s vocabulary could at times make a sailor envy, and she was a stubborn as a mule. She enjoyed interior design and went through many aesthetics from south western styles with pops of classic early 90’s teal to designs inspired by oriental cultures. Her family would never know what they would walk into when seeing her home. She leaves behind a dysfunctional but loving family including her daughter Theresia Wooley, two granddaughters Alycia Graves and Stephanie Woolsey-Shirley, husband J.R. Shirley and one great granddaughter Jade Woolsey. She is also survived by her sister Cynthia Siebert and brother Randy Cecil.
