Margo was a beacon of hope, strength, and a warrior who faced adversity with unwavering courage. After a long and arduous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPV) – an unknown condition that developed into severe lung disease, she received the gift of life from a life-saving lung transplant in October 2024. She was the 24th person in the United States to have survived this surgery, a testament to her indomitable spirit.

However, fate ultimately had a different plan – a cruel twist to a journey filled with so much hope. Just as she began to embrace her road to recovery, suddenly and unexpectedly, Margo passed away, leaving behind a void that can never be filled – a devastation that hit her medical teams and family hard, in remembering the joy and happiness for her opportunity to thrive at life. Weeks before, they were all cheering her on while she entered the surgery to help her maximize her legacy. Her sudden departure has left her unwavering support system and family, who had tirelessly supported her throughout her illness, now grappling with the immense loss and the unexpected financial burden.

The sudden nature of her passing has resulted in unplanned expenses that have further strained the family's finances, from the budget they planned for, at this part of her medical journey. The family has exhausted immense sacrifices to ensure the best possible care and comfort for Margo and each other throughout the year leading up to surgery day. As they navigate this difficult time, they are hoping to raise funds to cover the costs of a memorial service to celebrate Margo's life and provide a space for loved ones to gather and remember her. This service is to give her the send-off that she so deserved, to honor her impact, memory, and journey in this life. Additionally, the family is facing the added expense of the unplanned travel for the service during the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, a time that should have been filled with family time, joy, and togetherness. This trip will serve as a time for bonding with loved ones that have been touched by Margo’s spirit and legacy, for healing within the community that she created, reflection, and to help her family create a new path forward.
