Honoring Maria Elena's Final Wish: Returning Home
Donation protected
Our beloved mom, Maria Elena, was a pillar of strength and love in our lives. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated herself to providing a better life for her family. Born in Morelia, Michoacán, she made the courageous decision to move to New York in 1995, sacrificing her comfort and security to give us opportunities for a brighter future.
Our mother was not just a hard worker; she was the embodiment of selflessness. For over two decades, she devoted her life to Mount Saint Mary College, where her dedication and loyalty made her an integral part of the community. Her commitment extended beyond her workplace. While at MSMC, she also selflessly cared for the elderly with the Sisters of the Presentation and Carmelite Communion. This was yet another testament to her immense heart and unwavering desire to support others.
At the start of 2023, our mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She faced this battle with unmatched courage, truly one of God's strongest soldiers. Throughout her year-long fight, she never gave up hope or lost her spirit, inspiring us all with her resilience and unwavering faith.
Throughout the years, our beloved mother expressed her desire to be laid to rest in her birthplace, Morelia, Michoacán. It was her final wish, and we are committed to honoring it. We're reaching out for your support to help us fulfill Maria Elena's wish to return home.
The funds raised will cover the funeral expenses, the transportation costs to bring her back to Morelia for her final resting place, and any unpaid medical bill from her chemotherapy. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to ensuring that our mom's last wish becomes a reality.
Join us in honoring our mom's, Maria Elena Sarabia Fernandez, legacy of love, sacrifice, and strength. Your kindness and generosity will forever be remembered as we grant our beloved mother the peaceful journey home that she desired.
Thank you for being part of this tribute to her remarkable life.
