Honoring Mark Blankenship: Support His Memorial

My name is Sheree. I am raising funds to help pay the funeral and memorial costs for the loss of my husband, Mark Blankenship.

Mark Blankenship was the love of my life. He was unexpectantly taken from us on January 8. My life will never be the same without him. He was an honorable man who did his duty in life and deserves the best memorial that we can give him.

Mark took it upon himself to raise my sons like they were his own. He loved them as his own. His entire life revolved around his love for me, his daughters, and his family.

Every person he came in contact with was impacted by his presence. I am just amazed at the outpouring of love our family has received during this difficult time.

I was only able to love him for 14 years before this cruel twist of fate, but every second was filled with his unfiltered, raw, honest love.

He was the kind of person who opened our home to people in need, from helping a man dying from cancer that we barely knew to allowing someone who had fallen on hard times to couch roll until he could get back on his feet. He picked my sons up when they needed help.

He took care of his mother for her last years, moving her from Nebraska to South Florida so that she wouldn't be alone even though she required nursing home care.

When my father was going through the stages of dementia, he offered to help my mother by watching him so that she could get relief before he could receive the care he needed.

He took in an abandoned baby duck, nursed her back to life, and kept her in our backyard so she could live the best life possible.

Before I knew him, Mark served his country honorably, enlisting in the Navy. During his service, he challenged naval leadership to right wrongdoings, and he won.

He made the world a better place every second he was here.

We are lost without him.

Please help us give him the send-off that he earned in life.
