Honoring Marlene Davie
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and all who knew my mother Marlene Davie (Cottet),
My mother, Marlene, passed away on November 12th, 2023. In the intricate tapestry of life, each thread signifies a unique journey. My mom walked a path woven with both light and shadow. Her life, touched by many challenges, was a testament to her resilience and strong will. She endured a myriad of highs and lows in life, each leaving an indelible mark on her resilient spirit.
As the sole remaining member of the family Marlene brought into this world, I (her son) carry her legacy forward. She also leaves behind a circle of friends in Sonoma County, and two beloved granddaughters, and their families. Our lives, forever touched by her presence, now seek to honor her memory.
In her final days, Marlene expressed a deeply held wish – to be laid to rest as close as possible to her mother, Elfrieda, and brother, Mark, in Hayward, CA. Her last wish has become our heartfelt mission to fulfill. However, this journey has brought to light financial challenges we were not prepared for. The cemetery my mom's family are placed at have a number of open niches left in a memorial adjacent to where they are placed—however the financial means to secure this are where we are looking for help.
To honor Marlene's last desire and manage these unexpected expenses, we have established this GoFundMe campaign. Our goal is to raise the necessary funds to cover the burial expenses, ensuring Marlene's final resting place honors her wish.
Your contribution, whether financial or emotional, will help us immensely in giving Marlene the farewell she deserves. We thank you deeply for any support you can provide during this challenging time. Your kindness and generosity offer comfort and strength as we remember and celebrate Marlene's life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Alex Davie (Marlene's son)
Note - I intend to organize a memorial/celebration of life for my mom, likely to be somewhere in Sonoma County in early January 2024.
