Honoring Michele Garner Barrett
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Shane Healey Barrett, and I’m reaching out during a deeply difficult time for my family and me. After 6 ½ long years in a coma, my beloved wife, Michele Lyn Garner Barrett, passed away yesterday. We are devastated by her loss, and our hearts ache as we try to navigate life without her.
Michele was an incredible woman, full of life and love. She was the kind of person who found beauty in everyday moments. She loved cooking, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, working on cars, and spending time with family. She had a special talent for picking flowers, drying them, and turning them into beautiful decorations. Some of her happiest moments were on long walks by the beach or cuddling together at amusement parks.

Why We Need Your Help:
During her time in a coma, the emotional and financial toll on our family was immense. We prayed for the best, but always tried to prepare for the worst. Every day felt like an uphill battle, with endless hospital visits, bills, and the constant ache of not being able to truly see her. Money was always tight, and there was often barely enough for gas to visit her.
Now, we are faced with the heart-wrenching task of arranging Michele's funeral. The estimated costs for her funeral range between $1,600 and $4,000, and we also have $1,600 in outstanding medical bills that need to be covered. As a family, we’ve already been stretched thin emotionally and financially. We are humbly asking for your help to give Michele the respectful farewell she deserves.

A Special Memory:
Michele was a lover of adventure and fun. One of my favorite memories of her was during a camping trip. We had built a wall out of firewood for privacy, and when Michele went behind it to use the bathroom, the entire stack fell over. There she was, illuminated by the firelight, sliding helplessly as the wood fell. We were laughing, unsure of what to do, but that moment always stuck with us as an example of her lighthearted nature and the joy she brought into every situation.

How You Can Help:
If you are able, any contribution, no matter how small, would make a world of difference to our family during this time. Even if you're unable to donate, sharing this GoFundMe with your friends, family, and community would mean so much to us.
Your kindness and generosity will help lift some of the financial weight from our shoulders as we grieve and give Michele the farewell she deserves.
