Honoring Mike "Coach Lem" LeMerise with a Memorial

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of May 14th, Mike "Coach Lem" LeMerise passed away peacefully at home, survived by his wife of 52 years, three children, nine grandchildren, and a legacy of valuable contributions to the lives of thousands of students, players, and teachers spanning decades.

Mike wore many hats throughout his 75 years of life: passionate educator, children's fitness advocate, influential coach, exploratory creative, backyard game enthusiast, avid cyclist, goofy grandpa, and loving father. (Not to mention his love for wearing actual hats).

His family would like to honor his memory by building a bench and planting a tree dedicated to him in River Bends Park in Shelby Township, one of the main areas his 30,000+ miles of cycling took him over the years. We believe this memorial to Mike will be a meaningful and tangible way for the community he spent so many years serving to remember a great man.
