Honoring Monica Cornejo: A Life of Love and Strength
Donation protected
My name is Samantha, and I am raising money for my mother’s celebration of life. My mom, Monica Cornejo, passed away on 1/11/25 after suffering from type 1 diabetes and a conjunction of complications like heart failure, having a quadruple heart bypass, to kidney disease, then having to live on dialysis. She was only 45 years old, and she was everyone’s hero. She was the strongest one in our family, suffered, but she never let her personality change. She always encouraged everyone to take care of themselves, including me. Ever since I could remember, I have always gone the extra mile taking care of my mom since I was a little girl. Doctor’s appointments, medication management, caregiving, and overall just loving her. On one of my mom’s last days, she told me I was her hero, after 100 times I had to remind her that she will always be mine. We have always been close, a bond that I will share with my future children. She was selfless and could’ve given me the world if I truly asked for it. She was my biggest fan, supported anything I dreamed of, and ALWAYS pushed me to be better. Her friends might’ve joked about my mom having me in bubble wrap, but I look back at my childhood, and I thank her every minute of the day. She was my biggest protector, and I always hope to be as fearless as her. Not only was she an awesome mom, but she was also the eldest sibling out of 8. She was always looking out for everyone but also the first one to make fun of you! She was known to be the life of the party. Her favorite title was that she was an amazing tia and godmother. She took pride in being everyone’s favorite person. Aside from family, she leaves behind strong friendships, and everyone can attest that she was hilarious and loyal. She left an imprint on everyone’s heart. She was a lifting spirit, and she deserves a beautiful service for friends and family to come and honor her life! Thank you
