Honoring Morten: A Legacy of Strength, Courage, and Giving Back

After a brave and relentless battle with cancer, our dear friend Morten is no longer with us. But his spirit—his kindness, his unwavering strength, and his deep love for karate—will never fade.

For Morten, karate was more than a sport. It was his refuge, his purpose, and his source of hope. Even in his darkest days, when his body was weary, his spirit remained unbreakable. The dojo was his second home, a place where he found belonging, support, and the strength to keep fighting. And despite his struggles, he still gave back—teaching young students in the kids class, sharing his wisdom, and proving that true warriors don’t just fight for themselves; they fight for others.

Carrying Morten’s Legacy Forward

As we grieve his loss, we also celebrate his life and the profound impact he had on all of us. To honor his memory, we are launching The Morten Memorial Karate Fund—a tribute to his passion and a way to continue the legacy he left behind.

Empowering the Next Generation of Karate Warriors

In Morten’s name, this fund will support 10 dedicated young athletes from his dojo, under the age of 21, who have been selected to represent the National team of Great Britain at the World Tournament in Leipzig, Germany, from May 8-11 this year. These remarkable students embody the same discipline, perseverance, and heart that Morten did.

Your support will help cover travel, accommodation, training camps, and competition costs, giving them the opportunity to step onto the world stage—an opportunity Morten would have been incredibly proud to see them achieve.

In addition, this fund will also provide support for students from single-parent households and those facing financial hardship, ensuring that no aspiring karateka is held back from reaching their full potential.

How You Can Help

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps keep Morten’s spirit alive by empowering young athletes to chase their dreams, just as he did. If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you help us by sharing this fundraiser with your network.

Morten’s fight may have ended, but his legacy is just beginning. Let’s honor his memory by giving these young and hard-working athletes the chance to shine.

Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for helping us carry Morten’s light forward.
