June 15, 1974 - September 30, 2024
Ntxoov Tsheej Muas / Chong Cheng Moua, 50, was a beloved father, son, brother, friend, and mentor to many. He is survived by Mai Nhia Moua (Lee) and their five children, Nachia, Panouly, Lyda, Francis, and Sheng Yeng. Chong was a generous man whom graciously shared his time, kindness, wisdom, resources, and heart in abundance with his family and community.
Chong and his family were refugees from Laos and in the late 1980's, they journeyed across the world to Green Bay, Wisconsin to create new lives and fulfill the American Dream. Chong attended West High School, where he met his wife Mai Nhia, and soon went on to complete his associates degrees in welding and architecture at NWTC. He was an extremely hard worker, with 26 years employed at IPG in Menasha, WI, and dedicated much of his personal time supporting the Hmong community through his involvement in the Moua Council of Wisconsin (2018-2022) and other various gatherings.
Chong worked hard in every aspect of his life and enjoyed the fruits of his labor when he could. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, family, spending time with friends, cruising in sports cars like his beloved Corvette, creating memories with friends of the Hmong Wisconsin Corvette Club (2022-2024), honoring the Hmong culture through his upkeep and faith in its traditions and values, fashion and shopping, relaxing in his pool, playing with his grandchildren, and more.
On the night of September 25th, 2024, Chong fell from a bar stool in the kitchen of his home and suffered a traumatic head injury. It is unclear if he suffered from a stroke first due to having high blood pressure, which could have caused him to fall off the stool... or if by falling on his head, he then suffered a stroke. He was rushed to the hospital with his brave son by his side and was seemingly coherent at first. After a couple hours, he lost consciousness and underwent emergency brain surgery due to his brain hemorrhaging and over swelling.
For the first three days in the hospital, Chong rested and showed signs of slight brain activity but was in a steady unconscious, non-responsive, vegetative state. Family, both near and far, supported Chong throughout every minute of his stay.
Unfortunately after the fourth day, doctors delivered devastating news that due to the catastrophic impact of Chong's brain injury, he had a 0% chance of survival and would never awake again. Doctors began to see less and less brain activity and half of the brain had already perished at a rapid pace.
Chong passed peacefully on the morning of Monday, September 30th, 2024 surrounded his loving wife, children, and siblings. Chong touched many lives and he will be missed forever, but he will always remain in our hearts. His legacy lives on.
The immediate family and the Moua family extend their sincere and utmost gratitude for all whom have offered condolences and kind words. Truly, your unwavering support has been the beacon of light that guides the family through these dark and devasting times.
If you are able to extend your generosity to help support the family's medical and funeral expenses, the Moua Family would be forever grateful.
If you are unable to donate at this time, the family welcomes your presence and attendance at the Hmong funeral starting Friday, November 22nd - 23rd at the Hmong Culture Service Center Funeral Home, 1621 Main Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Thank you!
