Honoring Omar: A Community's Call to Help
Donation protected
No parent ever expects to bury their child before they, themselves, die. No teacher ever expects to have that empty chair in their classroom. No friend ever expects to have hole in their heart over such a tragic loss.
It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Brockton High senior, Omar Caisaguano Maisanche, who tragically lost his life on March 5, 2025. Omar's death has left a deep, unfillable void in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Omar was a bright, kind, and loving soul who brought joy to his family, friends, and community. His absence will be felt in every corner of Brockton High School, where he was known not just as a student, but as a friend, and an inspiration to those around him. Full of Boxer Pride, Omar was an honor roll student who was college bound and had dreams of majoring in software engineering. Last year, he participated in a pre-college program through BHS and UMASS Boston, called Pathfinder. He also participated in BHS’s Early College Program, taking college classes at Massasoit while still in high school. Omar was integrally part of Latin American Student Organization (LASO), The Multicultural Club, and was a Language Ambassador for Brockton Public School’s Bilingual Department. Omar often gave back to his community by volunteering as a student language ambassador at District events and for the Parents' Academy, using his multi-lingual superpower to make a positive impact on his community.
Omar is survived by his devoted parents, Blanca and Jaime, his brother, Anthony (10th grade Promise High School student), and his one-year-old, baby sister, Yoely, whose lives will forever be shaped by the love and loss of their son and older brother. While already financially insecure, this tragedy has just compounded everything. Mom and dad do not have the money to give Omar a funeral.
In this incredibly difficult time, we are reaching out to friends, family, and the community to help support Omar's family. The funds raised will go directly towards funeral expenses, supporting his grieving family, and helping ensure that his memory lives on in a meaningful way. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference as his family navigates this heartbreaking time.
Please consider donating to help honor Omar’s memory and provide support to his loved ones as they begin to heal from this unimaginable loss.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Omar may no longer be with us, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
