Honoring our beloved neighbor Reggie
Donation protected
Our friend, relative and neighbor Reggie was killed on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 in an act of senseless gun violence. Born Townsend Reginald Sowell, he was only 46 years old at the time of his death and leaves behind two children, a partner, extended family members and a neighborhood in shock over his loss!
Reggie was a beloved fixture in Edgewood, our little neighborhood in Northeast DC where he lived his whole life. You could always count on seeing his smiling face and getting to hear him crack a joke, give you a compliment or ask about your day. His friends and community describe him as funny, witty, loving, silly and spontaneous.
We miss him and want his life to be commemorated properly and with honor.
The District of Columbia Superior Court Crime Victims Compensation Program will cover up to $10,000 for the funeral. Reggie’s family needs to raise an additional $4,000 to cover the cost of the burial, casket and headstone. Any funds raised over the goal will go towards expenses associated with cleaning and emptying Reggie’s family home.
My name is Tanya, and Reggie was my friend and next-door neighbor. I am coordinating this fundraiser on behalf of Reggie’s adult son.
Thank you for your support. Let’s honor Reggie with love and light.
