Honoring Patrick: Help His Children's Future

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we share the incredibly sad news regarding the passing of Patrick “Pat” Byrne. On May 14th 2024, he lost a 2+ year battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer). Not only did he battle courageously against a very rare and aggressive cancer, he selflessly chose to participate in research trials that his team, the honorable and capable medical professionals at Massachusetts General Hospital offered him.
Patrick’s most important roll in life was to be Dad to Maggie Byrne a Cape Cod Voc. Tech Student, Molly Byrne a recent Bridgewater State graduate and David Carty, the big brother who has always played such a huge roll in his sister lives. Patrick, who grew up in Whitman was proud to be the youngest of seven and will forever be in the memories of his siblings: Andrea, Mike, Chris, Bonnie, Leanne and Tim. Pat also cherished his friends, teammates, associates & competitors in the Cape Cod Ultimate Frisbee league. He was a huge advocate and loved every moment he spent with them.

We have all known special people. People that possess an incredible will-power and tenacity. These people never give up and in their own way, they always win. They are the ones who uplift us in times of despair, inspire us to chase our dreams, and bring smiles to make the best of every situation. Patrick has always been one of these people. He would always provide a jovial “Good Morning” to everyone. He had an endless desire to make sure everyone was as happy as possible. Patrick made everyone, in his universe, feel included and important. He found the silver lining in even the most difficult of situations.
As always and until his final moments Patrick was cracking jokes, “Patisms” and enjoying time with his family.
As we all know, Patrick would do anything for anyone. Maybe he fixed your car? Spent time listening to your tale of woes? Stopped by to check on you or cheer you up? In this vein, we are asking for donations to help support his children and help cover costs of his funeral services. We hope to help his children get back on their feet during such a difficult time. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and do not go unnoticed. Light-speed Pat. Until we meet again.
