Honoring Paulette: Support Two Rivers PTA Student Store
Donation protected
When James and Quincy started elementary school, it didn't take long for Paulette to find the PTA. Over the next six years, she donated hundreds of hours of her time supporting Two Rivers Elementary School. From big projects to small activities, Paulette was always there to help. One of her super powers was creating community partnerships and securing donations for PTA events and activities. The PTA bank account grew steadily during the time she participated and, as a result, we were able to fund different programs that benefited student learning, happiness, and success.
One of the events Paulette loved the most was the Student Store. The Student Store was open to all students right before the holidays and was a place they could secretly buy gifts for their family members and friends. Many of you know Paulette loved a good bargain and this event was right up her alley! She and a few other Moms scoured Dollar Tree after Dollar Tree seeking the best of the $1 items to create the initial Student Store inventory. And because the store was so popular with students, we often restocked every single night! With a heaping shopping cart, the Dollar Store cashiers didn't know what hit them! The receipts we were given looked like Santa's list - hundreds of items - that we would resell to students for $1. This event was one of her most beloved. Yes, she loved the bargain hunting, more even more than that, she loved seeing the smiles on the students' faces when they got to choose special items for their loved ones.
To honor Paulette, her contributions to Two Rivers, and her commitment to serving all students, any funds donated will be sent to the Two Rivers PTA and applied toward future Student Stores. The PTA will ensure that all students, regardless of their financial status will be able to visit the store and buy items. I believe that this is one of the most fitting ways that we could remember Paulette and honor her commitment to the school and students.
Thank you for your support!
