Honoring Rian Ortiz's Legacy by supporting his family

Donation protected
Rian Austin Ortiz, age 19, passed away unexpectedly, due to an illness on May 21, 2024. Rian grew up in a loving home, where he revealed his family-oriented nature, cherishing precious moments with his family. An accomplished athlete, Rian excelled in many sports, particularly football, wrestling, and his true passion, baseball. He was known for his sociable nature, bringing joy to others through his humor.

Rian graduated from Florence High School in 2023 and went on to attend the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Driven by a desire to help others, he joined Alpha Sigma Phi, becoming apart of their supporting family, supporting veterans, and engaging in numerous community service projects. Rian enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, snowboarding, and especially spending time with friends, always being the life of the party. His decision to become an organ donor further exemplifies his admirable character.

Rian is survived by his mother Kristie Haines and his stepfather Jimmy Larsen, his father Ronnie Ortiz and stepmother April Ortiz, with all of them raising him with unconditional love and support. He is also survived by his older sister Bailee Ortiz, younger brother Carson Ortiz, step-brother Bryton Hoaglund, grandparents Mike and Elaine Haines, Anthony and Joann Ortiz, Brian and Diana Laskey, Carol Larsen, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

A Celebration of Life is planned to honor an extraordinary “Hero” Rian Austin Ortiz on Monday, June 10, 2024 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Pathfinder Park Events Center in Florence, Colorado.

In the wake of this tragedy, we are raising funds to help Rian’s family cover the unexpected costs associated with his passing. These include funeral expenses, memorial services, hospital fees, and other related costs that the family is now facing.

Your support during this difficult time would mean the world to Rian’s family. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in easing the financial burden and allowing the family to focus on grieving and celebrating Rian's life.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Rian and for considering a donation. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated. Please keep Rian and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
