Hello, my name is Emily, and I’m a close friend of Richard Wagner’s daughters. I’m reaching out to you today to help raise support for their family as they navigate an unimaginable violent loss and the immense financial and logistical challenges that have unfortunately come with it.

Richard Wagner was a dedicated father but also cherished in his community in Kansas City and Mexico. Known for his adventurous spirit, being able to connect with people easily, his kindness, and how he has always been there for those in need. His authenticity and love of the outdoors and nature have inspired many, and now it is our turn to rally around his kids and family during this difficult time.

What Happened?

Richard Wagner was murdered doing what he loved most, exploring Mexico on a bicycle. This unforeseen situation has placed an enormous financial strain on his daughters and family who cannot properly grieve due to the legality and complexity of his case.

Why We Need Your Help?

Richard’s dedication to his children has never wavered, but unfortunately, he didn’t leave any afterlife instructions and funds to cover his cost of death. Mexican law is not allowing cremation within Mexico, and his body must be transported to the U.S. to be cremated in a timely manner to bring closure to the family. We are estimating this process to cost $6,500.

His daughters are also trying to bring his dog, Bella, back to Kansas City to be with the family, and there are complications with the breed being a pitbull mix. We are expecting this might be a costly process too. Rough estimate is $1,000-$2,000.

If they aren’t able to bring Bella to Kansas City, any remaining funds after the funeral home expenses will be used to cover the airfare to Mexico City to close their father’s estate and the additional baggage fees to bring keepsakes from their dad home.
