Honoring Sam Buckey's Memory

On August 7th, 2024, Sam Buckey left this world to be with the Lord and his cherished wife, Joan Marie. Sam's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and deep love for his family and friends. His days were filled with meeting new people, lending a helping hand, and creating treasured memories with those he loved. Although words can scarcely capture the depth of his impact, we strive to honor his legacy through the stories and memories that he so generously shared with us.

His commitment to their lives was immeasurable—rain or shine, he made it a point to attend their basketball, football, and soccer games, traveling any distance just to cheer them on. Each game, regardless of the weather, was an opportunity for him to be there, snapping pictures and walking alongside them on the field with pride. Storytelling was one of his greatest joys, and he delighted in sharing his experiences and wisdom with them. His presence was a constant in their lives, a reassuring fixture they could always count on. He had a special way of making each moment memorable, often arriving with thoughtful gifts—whether it was a bouquet of flowers or a collection of coins—his way of showing his love and appreciation.

In lieu of flowers, we have set up this GoFundMe to honor Sam’s legacy and to help fulfill his heartfelt wish. The funds will be used to establish a trust for his great-grandchildren. Additionally, the money will support a celebration of life in the coming weeks to honor and remember Sam’s incredible spirit.
