Honoring Samuel: Help Us Say Goodbye

My name is Madid Awan, and I am heartbroken to share the devastating loss of my best friend, Samuel (Amum). Many knew him not only as a father to his beloved son, Junior, but also as a dedicated business owner, a community leader, and a man whose kindness knew no bounds. He had a contagious smile, an open heart, and a giving spirit—always ready to extend a helping hand, offer a warm meal, or even give the shirt off his back to someone in need.

Samuel’s passing has left an unimaginable void, not only in the hearts of those closest to him but also within the entire Sudanese community, who cherished and respected him deeply. This time last year, we mourned the loss of my cousin, Bob Muoranyar, who was not only Samuel’s dear friend but also his business partner. Samuel and I stood side by side as pallbearers, laying Bob to rest. Now, with overwhelming grief, I find myself saying goodbye to Samuel.

As we trust in God’s grace for justice, we ask for any contributions—big or small—to help give Samuel the honorable homegoing he deserves. Every donation will go directly toward funeral expenses and providing support for his son and loved ones during this difficult time.
