Honoring Seamus Paco Sims
Donation protected
On February 18th, 2023, our world lost a beautiful soul too soon. Seamus Paco Sims passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stratford, Connecticut. Born and raised in Port Townsend, you were sure to know Seamus for his kind, authentic demeanor and his immutable sense of justice and love for humanity.
My name is Elizabeth Thomas, and I am Seamus' littlest sister. Although my brother is no longer with us, his family and friends are inviting you to keep his memory alive for years to come. The Port Townsend Skate Park, which he and a few friends lobbied endlessly to build and design, is the place to continue Seamus’ legacy.
We are in the process of working with the City of Port Townsend to rename the Port Townsend Skate Park “Seamus Sims Memorial Skate Park” and install a bench in his memory. The changes have been unanimously approved by the Port Townsend Parks and Recreation Board and will be presented to the Port Townsend City Council in early June. The funds raised will contribute to the memorial bench and plaque, two sign changes with the new name of the park, and his Port Townsend Celebration of Life. I will be receiving your generous contributions to this Go Fund Me, and will be using them to purchase the above items and contribute to the Celebration of Life.
We know Seamus was special to many of you. Together, we can heal knowing we are giving something back to the community and place that helped shape who Seamus was.
We invite the many people that adored Seamus to his celebration of life on July 9th at 1:00 pm at the Fort Worden Kitchen Shelter in Port Townsend.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and love for Seamus.
