Kyle - we hope these words give everybody the slightest glimpse into the incredible human you were. We will love & miss you forever. - Carissa & Maiya
The Kyle We Knew...
The Kyle we knew was more than any of his titles - son, father, Soldier, battle buddy, friend, etc.
The Kyle we knew was more than the stoic facade he walked around with - he was spunky & full of life.
The Kyle we knew was one of the best junior intel analysts we served with - and was too intelligent for his own good.
The Kyle we knew loved the Army - he questioned & challenege the norm, but only because he cared.
The Kyle we knew had big hopes & dreams for his future.
The Kyle we knew loved the heavy metal band, Lamb of God, & would bust out dance moves randomly.
The Kyle we knew somehow took hundreds of selfies on your phone without you knowing it.
The Kyle we knew deeply cared for him mom Natalie & was obsessed with his son Benjamin.
_____
SGT Kyle Gbaya served in the New York Army National Guard from 04 April 2013 - 23 November 2021. He deployed to Kuwait & Iraq in 2016 - 2017. Deployments change you, regardless of if you experienced combat... and unfortunately, Kyle struggled finding his way back to himself when we came home. His mental health issues turned into physical health issues & Kyle passed on 16 October 2024.
This Go Fund Me will help Kyle's mom pay for funeral services & any additional money will go to a fund for Kyle's 8 year old son.
_____
Kye was not his mental health illnesses. He was not his physical ailments that derived from them.
We will remember Kyle as the smiling, dancing, full of life young man that he was... and will always be, in our minds & in our hearts.
