Honoring Shandani's Legacy

Donation protected
With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we bid farewell to a cherished member of our community, Shandani Jackson.
Her journey among us, though too brief, was marked by extraordinary accomplishments, unwavering dedication, and boundless compassion.

Shandani's legacy has had a profound impact, both within the academic realm and the broader community. As Vice President of the Pi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) and the AGS Southern Student Trustee for the 2023-2024 term, she embodied the spirit of service and leadership. Her contributions to AGS were invaluable, fostering a sense of camaraderie and purpose among its members. Shandani's commitment to excellence was evident in every endeavor she pursued, from organizing meetings to facilitating community service events.

Beyond her roles within AGS, Shandani's passion for public service extended far and wide. As a Council Aide in the Office of Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, she tirelessly worked to address the needs of her community, from advocating for marginalized voices to spearheading initiatives for positive change. Her involvement in various non-profit organizations and community projects exemplified her dedication to making a difference in the lives of others.

Shandani's academic prowess, coupled with her insatiable curiosity and diverse interests, painted a portrait of a truly remarkable individual. Her pursuit of knowledge in fields ranging from technology to neurology and law underscored her commitment to understanding the complexities of the world around her. As a mother, she carried with her a deep sense of purpose, striving to create a better future for her children and generations to come.

She volunteered for many activities and was heavily involved in non-profits and organizations focusing on transformative change. On-campus activities included complementary involvement with UMOJA, MESA, Physics Club, ASO, Girls Who Code, Engineering, Symbiotix, and Center for Academic Success (CAS) tutors.

Her impact reverberates through the memories we hold dear and the lives she touched along her journey.
Shandani's spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the power of resilience, compassion, and unwavering determination.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Shandani was honored as the recipient of the 2024 Alpha Gamma Sigma Ed Walsh Service Award, a testament to her remarkable legacy of service and leadership
Though she may no longer walk among us, Shandani's light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and minds, illuminating the path for all who follow in her footsteps.

Rest in peace, dear Shandani, knowing that your legacy will live on in the countless lives you've touched and the hearts you've forever changed. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1

"Though she has departed this earthly realm, her love and light remain eternally ingrained in our hearts, guiding us through the shadows with the wisdom of her enduring spirit."

ALL donations will be given to the family to support in what ever is needed.
