Honoring Shantelle's Life and Caring for Courtney

If you're talking about the truth that perfectly capture someone's personality, it's been said: one time it's happenstance, twice it's coincidence, and three times it's a fact. When it comes to remembering Shantelle, the facts are - she was a lover. She loved unconditionally and loved hard. It didn't matter if you were a lifelong friend, family, her children, a stranger or a customer at her bar - she loved ALL people. She had a fascinating natural talent at not only telling you but really making you feel it. Not many have that superpower. Shantelle was authentic, genuine and unapologetically real. She was beautiful. Her smile alone lit up any room she entered. And her smile was often followed with the most infectious laugh. A laugh that I am sure many will remember till the end of time. The final fact was that Shantelle was a warrior. Shantelle had battled and overcome many hardships throughout her life and always managed to come through and focus on the positive. Taking great care of everyone else was a way that she took care of herself. Friends remember Shantelle as saying many times: "Yo if I can save one person, I will have temporarily saved myself. As long as I continue to be vocal and help people, it will continue to help me." It's a tragedy we lost someone of this magnitude. We encourage everyone to remember Shantelle for who she was: strong, loving, compassionate, real, and beautiful inside and out. If we can gain anything positive in this time, it is to continue her legacy. Make time for your friends and family, slow down, never judge, spread love and be kind to one another. We never really know the battles of the people right next to us. We have created this GoFundMe to help with immediate funeral expenses. Any leftover funds will be converted into a security bond for Shantelle's daughter Courtney. Courtney has lost her baby brother Xavier and now her mom. With your support and generosity, we can give Shantelle the loving memorial she deserves, and let her daughter know that this community is here for her, always.
