Honoring Springfield Renaissance School Seniors
We are a group of parents from the Springfield Renaissance School. This year 83 of our students will graduate after a very challenging year, where they have had to learn remotely, deal with family stresses, cope with continual loss and disappointment, and negotiate the college application process virtually. Most of the traditions and rituals that are central to the senior year experience are not happening or have been drastically modified due to Covid 19. We are so proud of their persistence and determination in light of these struggles!
We need your help to raise $1,500 to support our seniors as they leave the school and step out into the world. We will use the funding to help our school’s teachers and staff create appreciation gift bags for each student and to arrange for photographers and a distanced celebration during 2 of the school’s most cherished senior year traditions: Declaration Day on May 21, where each student declares their college or career plans for the coming year, and Senior Class Day on June 1, where students receive awards and do their final walk through of the school. Please give what you can and help us show them how much their community cares. All funds will be held by the Springfield Renaissance PTO.
Renaissance is an award-winning school and part of a larger network called EL Education (formerly Expeditionary Learning). Our mission is to provide a rigorous academic program for college-bound students in a small, personalized setting that impels and supports students to use their minds well, care for themselves and others, and rise to the challenges and duties of citizenship! We focus on rigor and high expectations, character education, service, leadership, and college preparation. Please visit our website at https://www.springfieldrenaissanceschool.org.
