Donation protected
We are deeply saddened by the heartbreaking news that our dearest Sue-Je Gage has passed away unexpectedly the morning of May 10, 2020. As friends, students, and colleagues of Sue-Je, we establish this fund to help offset the following expenses:
1) Funeral, medical, and travel costs for family members
2) Support for Sue-Je’s remaining family: her mother, sister Serina and four children
3) Costs to help transport Sue-Je’s belongings from Ithaca to Indiana, where her family lives
4) Support for her daughter Sarah’s future and for her higher educational goals.
Sue-Je has joined her brothers, Kim and Jimmy in heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah; mother, Myong Land; sister, Serina Gage; and nephews and nieces.Sue-Je meant so much to so many: daughter, sister, mother, associate professor, friend, mentor, advisor, role model, colleague, advocate, activist, role model - and so much more. Many tributes have poured in sharing how Sue-Je deeply impacted, influenced, inspired and touched the lives of so many people. Encompassing shared thoughts of how wonderfully compassionate, selfless, inspiring, calm, brave, brilliant, humble, wise, kind-hearted, patient, loving, beautiful, creative, and thoughtful soul she was.
We are all blessed to have known her. The impact she had on others made the world a better place. Her legacy will forever live on. May she Rest In Peace and in Power.
From Sue-Je’s sister, Serina Gage: Please pray for Sue-Je's daughter Sarah and all the nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother. We will never forget Dr. Sue-Je Gage and all the lives she touched. Please share any pictures of you with Sue on Facebook. I’m trying to plan a virtual early celebration of life for her.
All funds go directly to Sue-Je's family.
