Honoring Sung Don Cho: Support Funeral Costs

To our friends & family, with heavy, grateful hearts, we honor our late father, Sung Don Cho, (12/30/40-8/20/24) and his memory. He was an honest, generous, hardworking man. He was gentle and lover of all nature, recognizing it as God's creation. He was a dedicated elder, serving his church for many decades. His faith and love were expressed through his actions, consistency in showing up, and giving. He didn't retire and worked til his last breath at the age of 83. He didn't partake in recreational activities or self-serving hobbies. He simply worked, ate dinner, went to bed early, and woke up early the next day to repeat it all over again.

Our family was not expecting such a quick decline in our father's condition. He struggled in the hospital for a month with pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis (scarring of the lungs), although he never smoked in his life. We have not even yet accounted for the pending hospital bill.

Due to the overwhelming outpouring of love of our friends and family, many have asked if there's any way they could help. We understand many cannot be here in person to attend the funeral. We realize that besides prayer there's no tangible way to support us until now. We are estimating fees of the Funeral, Burial, and other basic Cemetary costs of to be $13,800 (conservatively, not including hospital costs).

Currently our eldest brother is a pastor who stepped down from his ministry last year and is searching for another position, our middle brother is unable to support, and our youngest is still developing his new career.

We do not want anyone to feel pressure to give, but only if your heart desires to bless us as this will be challenge for us to cover the lump sum costs in one sitting on our own.

We recognize that this grieving process will be a marathon and each of the out-of-state sons are considering leaving their careers and jobs to move back to NJ to help our widowed mother.
