Honoring Suzie's Legacy: Help Her Family lay her to rest.

It is with profound sadness that I share the unexpected passing of Suzanne "Suzie" Chappell, a cherished member of the Seattle Roots and Carolyn Downs family for over 20 years. Suzie’s contributions to our medical records department were immeasurable, and her impact on both our staff and the community will be felt for years to come.

Throughout her career, Suzie was a trusted and beloved member of the organization, known for her deep care and dedication to patients, colleagues, and the community. It was common to hear both patients and staff ask, "Is Suzie here today?" because of the warmth, reliability, and compassion she brought to every interaction.

Suzie’s love for her family shone through in everything she did, and her legacy endures in the lives she touched, both personally and professionally. When I first joined Seattle Roots, she was one of the first to welcome me, rallying volunteers for weekly park/neighborhood cleanup crews near the Carolyn Downs clinic. Her resilience, boundless dedication, and compassion are traits we will deeply miss.
