Honoring the Life and Legacy of SSG Douglas W. Wilson, Jr.

Donation protected
Douglas W. Wilson, Jr., age 40, of Wimauma, FL, formerly of Verona, NY, tragically passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, just weeks before Christmas, after losing his battle with PTSD. A proud veteran and devoted family man, Doug’s life was defined by his service to his country, his love for his family, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Doug’s unwavering commitment to his country began on June 27, 2007, when he proudly enlisted in the United States Army. Over the next decade, Doug served with distinction, completing three deployments to Afghanistan and earning numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Expert Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar. Doug’s selflessness and courage were unmatched, but his battles overseas eventually became battles within.

Beyond his service, Doug was an incredible father who adored his three children. He brought love, strength, and laughter into their lives. Now, these children are facing life without their dad, a loss that is immeasurable. As Christmas approaches, their world has been turned upside down, and the weight of this tragedy is especially heavy during the holiday season.
Doug’s passing leaves his wife, Ashley, and their children navigating the emotional and financial challenges of losing their hero. We are asking for your help to honor Doug’s legacy and provide his family with the support they need to begin healing.

No contribution is too small, especially during the holiday season when we know times are hard for so many. Every dollar helps honor Doug’s memory and supports his family in their time of greatest need.
Doug gave so much to his country and his family. Now, we have the opportunity to give back, to show his loved ones that they are not alone. Let us come together to lift them up during this season of giving and remembrance.

In the wake of Doug’s passing, his family faces not only the grief of their loss but also the financial challenges of this sudden tragedy during the holiday season. We are asking for your support to honor Doug’s memory and assist Ashley and their children during this difficult time.
Your donations will go toward:
• Funeral costs to give Doug the honorable farewell he deserves.
• Day-to-day living expenses to help the family adjust during this transitional period as they move from what they believed would be their forever home and relocate.
• Holiday support to bring comfort and stability for the children during this heartbreaking time.

Doug’s life was a testament to sacrifice, service, and love. As Christmas approaches, let us come together to celebrate his legacy and support the family he loved so deeply.
Rest in peace, Doug. Your light will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew you.
