Honoring the Life of Josue “ Coach JJ”Jaramillo: A Legacy Cut Too Short, A Mentor with a Heart of Gold

A father, a son, a coach, a mentor, a friend, a brother—Josue “JJ” Jaramillo was so much more than any title could encompass. As I write these words, my heart aches, and I’m struggling to express the depth of loss we all feel. Josue was a man who led by example, inspired many through his actions, and infused the soccer passion on whom he coached. My heart breaks for his partner, Grace, and most of all, for his children, who meant the world to him.

JJ didn’t just love soccer; he loved people. He loved life. His children can hold their heads high, knowing he was an incredible man who touched so many lives with his kindness, passion, and dedication. His legacy is built on the values he instilled, the opportunities he created, and the countless lives of players he touched.

With heavy hearts, we share the news of Josh’s passing, a loss that has left an irreplaceable void. Known to so many as "Coach JJ," Josue was far more than a coach—he was a mentor, a father figure, and a true pillar of strength and inspiration in our community. His influence extended far beyond the soccer field. He empowered, uplifted, and created a sense of family among players, parents, and supporters, all of whom will carry his memory forward.

JJ’s passion for the game was matched only by his love for the people he mentored. His ability to balance discipline with compassion, to push players to be their best while always supporting them with kindness, was what set him apart. His warm spirit and encouragement will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him off and in the field.

As we grieve the loss of this extraordinary man, we also come together to support his family through this incredibly difficult time. This GoFundMe page has been created to assist with funeral expenses and to provide financial support to his loved ones as they navigate life without him.

The funds will also help continue Coach JJ’s vision, particularly through his work with the FC6IX program. Josh was committed to creating an inclusive, supportive soccer and futsal community, and we are determined to honor his dream by keeping his legacy alive.
