Honoring the life of Jai Bankhead and supporting her son in the wake of a tragic loss.

Dear Family, friends, and compassionate individuals, We come to you with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss and sorrow. November 3rd our beloved sister Jai tragically lost her life behind a void that can never be filled as she was struck by a car while walking to the store on Arrowhead Blvd in Clayton County GA. We are devastated by this unimaginable loss and are reaching out to you for your support.

Jai was a vibrant, compassionate, and resilient individual who was a loving sister, a devoted friend, and a piller of strength to individuals in everyday life. Jai was a remarkable individual whose presence radiated beauty, fearlessness and genuine love. She had a beautiful smile that lit up any room and a spirit that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Jai was known was known for her kind heart, her realness, for how strong and hard working she was. Her magnetic personality and genuine love will be missed and cherished.

January 2019 our family experienced a sudden and heartbreaking loss with the passing of our mother. The pain of her absence has reverberated through our lives leaving an indelible mark on each of us. Our mother was the heart and soul of our family, the piller of strength and love that held us all together. The weight of grief following the loss of our mother has been very challenging for our entire family to bear. Each of us has experienced the pain in our own way and we’ve all grieved differently. For Jai the grief took a particularly devastating toll leading her down a path of deep depression. As the depression took hold Jais world became clouded by a sense of hopelessness and isolation. It was as if a dark cloud had settled over her making it difficult for her to see any light or find solace in the support of others. It wasn’t until she got pregnant with her son when she started to see hope. Cairo who is now 2 years old was not only a source of joy for Jai but also a catalyst for her healing. Through her love and dedication as a mother she discovered newfound hope and determination to overcome her struggles doing whatever she had to do to make sure Cairo was provided with a environment that was surrounded by love and support. Although Jai was remaining strong for her son not having our mom around to see her grandchild and help her as a first time mother her depression kept coming back trying to defeat her. She kept fighting.

We created this Gofund me campaign to seek your assistance in honoring Jais memory and supporting her son in this difficult time. Your contributions will greatly be appreciated.
