Honoring the life of William Blake McCarty

Our father, Blake, passed away late last week after a long battle with cancer. He fought bravely until the end, and went peacefully at home in the company of his wife and all of his children. While not entirely unexpected, we (dad included) thought we'd have more time with him and more time to prepare for the many decisions and expenses that come along with the completion of a life.

Dad didn't want anything fancy (he used to say "just throw me in the ocean"), but he made some specific requests that we would like to honor, (a simple celebration of life and a cemetery site so we can visit him). He was so dedicated to us and sacrificed so much for us during his life, and we want to do right by him as best we can.

Cost breakdown:

Basic Cremation/Facilities for Celebration of life: $4,130

Urn: $200

Urn Vault Estimate: $400 - $600

Burial Site Estimate: $1500 - $2000

Any additional funds will be used to offset the cost of flowers and reception for his celebration of life. If somehow those are completely offset, anything remaining will be donated to either the American Cancer Society or Dad's favorite organization- the Carolina Coonhound Rescue.
