Honoring the Memory of Taylor with Love & Support

Taylor Addison left this world on Monday, April 3rd at 2:05 pm, surrounded by those that loved her most. She is free of the ugliness she endured and will forever be in the loving arms of her true Father in Heaven. Taylor was on her journey to recovery in Florida. It takes courage to ask for help and last August she knew she could not overcome her struggles alone and agreed to treatment.
For those of you experiencing substance abuse with a loved one, you understand the intense battle. It is a situation the entire family becomes involved with. As Taylor's mom, Amy educated herself and walked this path alongside her child, longing for her recovery and ultimate safe return home. Her world stopped last Friday with one phone call. In a matter of minutes, she found herself scrambling to get to Taylor in Florida. Amy received the call she had dreaded for so long. Taylor had accidentally overdosed. Over 1200 miles distanced this mother from her baby that needed her. We can not even begin to imagine the desperation those many hours brought....
Taylor never opened her eyes. For the next 3 days, Amy, Darrenn, and Noah waited nonstop for a miracle. Their miracle never came and because Taylor made her wishes known to be an organ donor, our beautiful Taylor medically left this world to prepare for her next journey. Taylor wanted to be the light for just one single person on this earth. Her dream to counsel children will never be, but Taylor will go on to change the course of so many other lives with her gift of organ donation. Her identity will live on with those we will never meet but one day...one glorious day...we will all meet again, her chains gone, and she will be free.
We hope to lessen the stigma that attaches itself to those that find themselves struggling with substance abuse. We all walk out into this world every single day not fully knowing the baggage all of us carry. Our Taylor had a vibrant life. She loved her Momma, Darrenn, Noah, and their dog Mason. She cherished the love and support her grandparents showered upon her unconditionally. Taylor had an entire army that hurt for her and her earthly pains.
Taylor is our hero. We are so proud she chose organ donation but with that comes the most horrific pain their loved ones sacrifice on their behalf. Amy, Darrenn, and Noah held her hand awaiting her final journey on April 6th at which time they escorted their sweet Taylor one last time on her honor walk.
As Amy, Darrenn, and Noah's family, we are extremely grateful most importantly for every one of you praying. So many have asked how to help in the coming days. As we find ourselves in the Easter season, please continue to keep them all close to your heart. The journey back to Indiana without Taylor is just their beginning to an unimaginable loss.
