Honoring the Special Life of Jim Day

Donation protected
*Update* thanks to the unexpected and gracious generosity of those who loved Jim and due to the unforeseen expenses and nuances of trying to navigate everything that comes with someone passing, we are increasing our goal and will donating any residual funds in remembrance of Jim.

Jim Day passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2024, from a car accident while traveling in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his brother, John Day, and nephew, Colin Day. We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of Jim’s passing.

To know Jim was a true pleasure. He was known by many different communities in Connecticut and the surrounding area. He had a love for many things, from tinkering with electromechanical devices to playing pool. He also loved his kitty Armstrong. More notably, Jim spent many years working at Toad’s Place in New Haven where he enjoyed working on the sound and lighting.

Though a man of few words sometimes, when you caught an interest of Jim’s, he could easily fill a conversation with so many interesting facts. We know he will be missed by many.

This GoFundMe is being set up for Jim to have the services that he deserves. All donations will directly go to the costs associated with getting him back home to Connecticut and funeral expenses.
