My mother passed away April 5th, 2024, and my father recently passed on October 1st, 2024. Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake by trusting what I was told by a GECU supervisor. I was assured that I had all the necessary legal paperwork to access my father’s account and that it wouldn’t be closed, allowing me to cover his bills and final expenses.

However, GECU has now frozen my father’s account, and I no longer have access to the funds I was counting on to cover the burial expenses for both my mother and father. I had deposited $7,000 yesterday, and GECU has informed me that those funds are now inaccessible, leaving me devastated.

I am in urgent need of financial assistance and employment. I am a highly trained IT specialist with 33 years of experience, but right now, I’m overwhelmed with the situation and deeply regret trusting the bank. People have already been telling me how foolish I was to believe them, and it’s been incredibly difficult to cope with all of this. Any help or opportunities would be greatly appreciated.
