Honoring Val: Supporting Annie Through College and Providing a Nest Egg

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Community Members,

Our amazing community is grieving as we mourn the loss of Val Robichaud. Val stands as a true pillar of our community as publisher, editor, and writer for The Sonoma Sun. He dedicated his life to amplifying the voices and stories of our community, championing causes close to us, and holding truth and integrity above all else. Val is a part of our hearts and his sudden passing has left a big hole.

As we reflect on Val’s legacy of service, our thoughts turn to his daughter, Annie, who is now faced with the immense challenge of navigating life without her parents’ guidance and support (Annie’s mom passed away last summer). Despite his own humility, Val would undoubtedly want us to rally together to support Annie

Like her father, Annie possesses remarkable potential and a bright future. As she pursues her college education, we have the opportunity to honor Val’s memory by ensuring that financial obstacles do not stand in her way.

In Val’s memory and in support of Annie’s future, we invite you to join us in contributing to this fund. Your donations – whether large or small – will provide crucial support to help cover tuition fees, textbooks, living expenses, and other educational necessities. Any additional funds will be set aside in an investment account to help Annie following graduation.

Val may have been embarrassed by the notion of asking for help but he gave so much of himself to our community without hesitation. Now, it’s our turn to come together and offer support in his honor.

Val’s contributions enriched our lives and his wit, charm and talent for storytelling leaves an indelible mark on our collective consciousness. Now, let’s show him how much he was appreciated by supporting Annie.
