Honoring Valildra's Legacy: Creating a Reading Corner
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I am deeply touched and grateful for the outpouring of love and support I have received during this challenging time. My sister, Valildra Ann Williams Berry, was not just my sister; she was my heart and a profound source of inspiration to many.
Valildra dedicated her life to education, serving as an English and Language Arts teacher with Dorchester County School District 2 for 34 years. Her unwavering dedication to nurturing young minds and instilling a love for learning left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues alike. In 1996, her exceptional commitment earned her the prestigious title of Teacher of the Year at Oakbrook Middle School.
In honor of my sister's memory and her belief in the transformative power of reading, I have initiated a special project. Valildra understood that words are not merely letters on a page but tools of empowerment. She believed fervently in the joy and enrichment that reading brings to our lives.
To honor her legacy, I have collaborated with Oakbrook Middle School to establish a dedicated reading corner and to donate much-needed library books. This corner will serve as a sanctuary where students can immerse themselves in the joy of reading, just as my sister did throughout her life.
I am reaching out to you, our community, to help make this vision a reality. Your generous donations will directly contribute to the creation of the reading corner and the acquisition of books for the library. Every book will bear a special stamp, ensuring that Valildra's passion for literature lives on for generations to come.
Please consider contributing to this meaningful cause. Together, we can honor Valildra's legacy by fostering a love of reading and education in the hearts of young minds.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
