Honoring Voon Ying Lee: Help with Funeral & Medical Expenses

On August 30, 2024, my dad, Voon Ying Lee, was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. He took this diagnosis as a challenge, and over the next four months, he demonstrated immense courage and strength while undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy to battle this aggressive cancer.

On January 6, 2025, doctors informed us that his main tumor had reduced by 44%. His excitement is a memory we will forever cherish, considering that he had been in a lot of pain.

However, on January 24, 2025, my dad was admitted to the intensive care unit due to pneumonia and lung inflammation caused by the immunotherapy. Over the next six weeks, he underwent three surgical operations, intensive medical treatments, was placed in a coma, and was intubated to help him breathe. Unfortunately, due to the effects of his cancer treatment, he was unable to respond to any attempts to save his life.

Despite his incredible strength over these six weeks, my dad passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025.

My dad was a loving son, caring brother, devoted husband, and dedicated father. He was hardworking and curious, and had an unmatched passion for his restaurant. His love for life and his family defined him as a person.

My dad leaves behind a wife and two daughters who will forever cherish the beautiful moments shared.

As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we are also facing significant medical costs accrued over the past six weeks in the ICU, his cancer treatment, and funeral expenses, etc...
