Honoring William Jacobe: Funeral Assistance
Donation protected
On April 23, 2025 we suffered the unexpected loss of our father, William Franklin Jacobe. He previously struggled with his health in various ways, but unfortunately passed away quietly in his bedroom while my mother was making dinner. I'm creating this GoFundMe to help cover the expenses of the funeral since he unfortunately never had the funds for life insurance. Any and all help is truly very appreciated at this time as we navigate this confusing and heartbreaking time in our lives.
Our dad worked for nearly 40 years managing a grain elevator, first in Winterset and then later moving closer to home, in Truro. Everyone knows him as an honest and hardworking man who never said 'no' if you needed his help fixing something. If anyone in or out of town needed his help, he was there. He was and is an inspiration to me, and he went too soon. He had goals of taking a cross country road trip to see all of the sights he always dreamed of. He wanted to drive an 18-wheeler throughout the country, but his health turned before he had the chance. His laugh was infectious and his stories will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to sit by his side to listen. The funeral is anticipated to take place next week in Winterset, Iowa. More information to come on that. In the meantime, we appreciate any and all donations. Many of you know of the harsh financial conditions my parents survived on, so every single dollar helps. The quote we got from the funeral home is $11,000, and any extra will be put towards bills that my mom is now left to pay on her own as she navigates selling/fixing the house, and putting on a graduation party for my youngest sister in a few weeks.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and for any help you can give at all. Even sharing this is of great help. Take care, and thank you all!
