Honoring Yoli Abreu, Our Unicorn
Donation protected
How does one write all the ways in which Yoli's light touched each and every one of us? A sentence about their trauma-informed mental health practice cannot encapsulate the help provided to countless people in both non-profit organizations and private and personal matters. There is no way to explain how every day they showed up representing their identity to its truest capability and how that was such an act of bravery.
Yoli was a highly sensitive unicorn, a creature of the faewild that blessed their communities with magic and life. Yoli will be missed.
Yoli's wish was to have their body human composted, giving back to the land with their body. Funds raised will go toward transportation to Herland Forest (near Portland, OR) and the natural organic reduction process. Any funds raised above the money needed for the process will go toward community projects that Yoli was passionate about.
Once the process is complete, part of the soil will be given to family and friends to use in ways that remember and celebrate Yoli. The rest of the soil will be used in Herland Forest to nurture the growth of a tree.
About Herland Forest: The Herland Forest Natural Burial Cemetery is a non-profit cemetery dedicated to facilitating an individual’s return to the circle of life. Herland Forest uses cutting-edge permaculture techniques to nourish the soil and the delicate relationships that support a healthy ecosystem. Herland Forest delights in transforming graves into bouquets of flowers that herald the annual return of spring to the forest.
