Honor Mel King's Legacy - Donate to South End Tech

25 years ago Melvin King, activist, state legislator, and MIT professor founded

The South End Technology Center (SETC) to provide an onramp to the information highway and bring opportunities in computer technology, for Greater Boston’s underserved communities of color.

With the recent passing of Mel King, his family and the board of the South End Tech Center is coming together and asking our community and everyone who loves Mel King to donate to revitalize this technology center, an important part of Mel King’s legacy.

The goal of the SETC is to have a measurable impact on wealth disparities by helping to increase people’s earning potential by providing career pathways in lucrative technological careers and entrepreneurial initiatives.

The South End Technology Center is a model for community technology, an innovator in transformative, STEM educational experiences, computer literacy, new media arts, robotics, digital fabrication and manufacturing technology, autonomous machines, and AI applications, however, we need your help to continue our operations.

As we expand our services and increase capacity and scale, we are in urgent need of funds to continue providing day-to-day access and support to students of all ages and occupations, developing new programs, and maintaining services and operations.

We need your help to raise $100,000 dollars for general operations to begin the new year and continue our programming.
