Honouring Mark Woods

Hi, I’m Lily, and I had the privilege of working alongside Mark Woods for 7 years. I’m starting this fund to help his family honour and celebrate the incredible man he was.

I wanted to share a little about what Mark meant to me and so many others who had the joy of working with him and calling him a friend.

Tragically, on Saturday the 21st of September we lost one of our most esteemed colleagues here at Midwich, He spent 36 years with the business, and we would like to do everything possible to support his family during this difficult time.

Mark Woods, or as we fondly called him – Woodsy, Little Woodsy - was an exemplary man who always put others first. His character was very much that of a traditional gentleman - often he would be quiet and then from nowhere, crack a sharp-witted joke that would have us laughing until our bellies hurt. No one could tell a joke as he could. But beneath the comical exterior was someone who was deeply devoted to his family, which always shone through, no matter what.

Due to his incredible length of service and time spent in our logistics, customer service and warehousing departments, he was our go-to person. Anything from needing a plaster if you had cut your finger or knowing how to do something on the system, he was our ‘fountain of knowledge’ - an irreplaceable individual with a huge heart.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all. And now we will never know how someone so slender could possibly eat the amount of food that he did in any one day.
