Hoole Lights 21

Donation protected
Despite current restrictions Hoole Christmas Lights have BIG plans for this year’s Christmas festivities. Hoole will celebrate its 21st year of Christmas Lights with a different, socially distanced, switch on, on the evening of Saturday 21st November. Of course, we can’t have the usual crowds, stage and bands so instead we are inviting Hoole residents to ‘Stay Home > Decorate > Light Up Hoole’. We are asking local residents to join us in decorating their front windows and front gardens with Christmas lights and are planning a simultaneous ‘bigger and brighter’ switch on across Hoole, at the same time as lighting up the shopping area of Faulkner Street and Charles Street.

This won’t cost what our usual big event costs, but we still need public liability insurance, electrical safety tests and repairs to lighting and cabling. This comes to £2987.

We have some funds in the bank already and the local councillors (Gill Watson, Richard Beacham and Adam Langan) have offered support from their community budgets. BUT the more we can raise this year, the more we will have in the bank to plan for a really big event next year AND to complete more than just the essential repairs. After 21 years much of the cabling and electrical infrastructure is wearing out.

Our first target is £500 for the electrical tests.

The next £744 will cover the insurance costs.

For every £5 donated your name will be entered into the draw to switch on next year’s lights!

Every little helps. No donation too small! Please help make Hoole Lights 21st switch on something to remember!
