HOOPS FOR HOMELESS 2019-SATURDAY MAY 11, 2019-THE RANNEY SCHOOL-Doors open at 7pm-
On a basketball trip to Marietta, Georgia in July 2016, I saw a man, his wife, and their three children asking people for food and money. I witnessed them ask a man passing for food and he replied, “No, I have more important people to take care of. ” After watching that I couldn’t eat my food knowing they probably wouldn’t eat that day. So I gave them my food, it wasn’t enough for all of them but I wanted them to know someone cared and for the rest of the night it was all I could think about. This was my inspiration to use something that I love to help those in need. On May 11, 2019, I will be holding the second annual “Hoops for Homeless. " The event will allow my friends, peers and teammates to play with and against the best players in the tri-state area to have a lasting impact on the community. The event will feature a high flying all-star game and slam dunk contest. All of the proceeds will be donated to Lunch Break to assist those in need for food and clothing. Please come out and make a difference while being apart of our last run at the Ranney School!
