Hoosier Valley Legal Defense

The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group dedicated to the preservation of northwest Indiana's rich railroad heritage.

For the last decade, the Museum has been operating tourist excursions between our home in North Judson and the town of LaCrosse, Indiana. The tracks over which we have operated were acquired via a transportation enhancement grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) with the intention that the rail line be used for the benefit of the Museum.

Sadly, certain commercial interests have worked diligently to derail our operations and prevent us from doing the work that has been enjoyed by thousands of passengers. As a result, the Museum has expended a tidy sum in legal bills as we continue to fight for our rights.

All of the funds we acquire will be utilized to keep our tourist operations on track. We currently have to pay for a local attorney as well as a federal attorney. Both are costly, but well worth the money we've spent in order to preserve our rights under the 2004 INDOT agreement.

Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. For more information about this on-going situation, please click on the links below:
