Jason Hrabe (Hope 4 The Hrabes )

Jason Hrabe, much beloved husband, brother, family member and friend to many, has recently been diagnosed with PNH (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria) and Bone Marrow Failure. This disease is so rare that it affects only 1 in 1 million people and there is only 1 medication in the entire world to help treat it.
This all started out last September when Jason went in for his annual checkup and was told that his hemoglobin count was low. The normal count for a healthy male is 13-17 and Jason’s was at an 9. The doctors were concerned and so he had a Bone Marrow Biopsy and bloodwork which at the time didn’t show much so he was told to monitor and come back in 6 months to have a check up again. As of April 12th 2017 Jason went into the doctor complaining of headaches and feeling tired, dizzy and out of breath. After taking blood tests, his doctor called him after hours and said he needed to go straight to the Hospital Emergency right away as his hemoglobin count was down all the way to a 5.5, his red and white blood cells counts were very low as was his platelet levels too. He was very lucky to be alive. Since that day, Jason has not really been able to work, he spent a week in the hospital being tested, has had multiple specialist doctor visits, has had 5 blood transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy… just to name a few of the majors.
As of May 5th 2017, Jason found out his overwhelming and heart breaking diagnosis of PNH and Bone Marrow Failure at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. He and his wife, Skyler, will have to live close to the Mayo Clinic for the next 3-6 months, endure a bone marrow transplant, chemo therapy, lose all of his hair, and be on a medication called Solaris (which Forbes has called “The Most Expensive Drug in the World” at a whopping $440,000-$700,000+ in cost a year).
If you know Jason & Skyler, you know that they are the most selfless, kind, caring good people you hope to have in your lives for a long long time. Jason would do anything to help his friends, ANYTHING. Many of us know the kindness and generosity that Jason offers without hesitation. He truly is a gold hearted human and we are all completely devastated that something like this could happen to him.
In this unfortunate phase of Jason’s life, we are reaching out for any help we can give him. No matter how big or small we appreciate any amount you are able to give! All money donated will go 100% to any medical bills, treatment costs, gas, living expenses and anything else that insurance will not pay for. Your support is extremely urgent as Jason tries to fight through this difficult time. Please help get the word out and feel free to share this through any and all social media available! Let’s all show Jason how much we love him and fight this with him together! We will post updates as we receive them. Blessings to you ALL!
Thank You Kindly,
