Hope Acres
The purchase of Hope Acres will allow us to expand our therapeutic services by combining equine therapy with a wilderness setting. We will be able to reach more people, welcome larger groups, and create a safe outdoor space that supports mental health recovery and wellness. We also hope that the purchase of Hope Acres will provide future employment opportunities for participants of our various programs.
At Stable Life – we believe in universal signs, listening to and paying gratitude to our horse’s energy fields and dreaming of a world without barriers. As we travel along the journey that was started in the memory of Alison Walsh, our dreams have been supported by our community every step of the way. A program that started in a cold barn, led us into the Hope Arena – an arena that has created an environment where humans and horses interact and where stories are kept safe. As each individual’s story has been told whether in a loud voice or a whisper into the horse’s ear, our horses have taken those stories from the arena and transferred them in the grounds that surround us.
It’s been 2 years since we built the Hope Arena and the grounds that surround us have been filled with stories of loss and grief and stories of aspirations and forgiveness. As we move forward, we want to introduce you to our newest project Hope Acres – adding 9acres to our grounds to design an outdoor space where we can continue to break down the barriers to recovery and instil hope, where hope is often abandoned. Expanding our grounds will offer our participants and horses the opportunity to create a sacred place to experience growth in body, mind and soul.
It is also our dream that Hope Acres becomes a symbol of life’s journey – welcoming visitors to use as a safe haven for meditation or mindfulness practice; a place to explore one's creative self through painting, sketching, reading or writing; or a place to celebrate the lives of those that have passed. We picture Hope Acres filled with dream catchers swaying in its trees, memory benches with bright painted names and messages and perhaps little notes, words or phrases scattered for others to find.
