Hope Across Borders: Support for Josh and Ambra
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Abigail and my husband's is Isaac. We are reaching out to you all and asking for support for Josh and Ambra, my brother and his wife, who are really dear to our hearts. They are currently hoping to move to the United States this summer and are going to need a lot of support.
The last two years have been really tough for them. Around two years ago, they got got married, which was amazing! Since Ambra is Albanian, they got married in court 4-5 months before their wedding so that they would be able to get her Green Card soon after their wedding and come to the United States. However, after waiting for months and months and hearing nothing, just 3 months ago--2 years after their wedding--the Immigration Office notified them that they had lost her file and they had to start the whole process over.
During the waiting period, they have been unable to attend college and have had to work 60-80 hours a week to make just $500-600 a month. Because of this, they have lived very cheaply and haven't been able to save much together.
This whole period has been really crushing to both of them, and they are very tired mentally, physically, and emotionally. However, about 3 weeks ago they got a letter from a congressman saying that he personally would work to get her Green Card from the Immigration Office. So now, while tentative, there is hope on the horizon. Based off of other experiences, they believe they should be able to move to the United States this summer.
Because they haven't been able to save for themselves, Isaac and I are hoping to raise money for them to cover their airline tickets, get them a lease on a rental apartment, cover some of the basic furniture they will need in their apartment, and hopefully cover some counseling as well for the period between moving and getting settled into their lives and jobs here in the States.
Your support, financially and through prayer, will not only help them settle in a new country but also give them hope for a brighter future ahead. We are so thankful for any way you hope to give!!
