Hope & Aid for Korean Orphans #요리천사

There is a dire need for career opportunity and support for orphans in Korea. By law, these children are forced out of the orphanages at 18 years of age with a stipend of around $4,500. Finding a decent place to live, continuing their education, and even finding menial jobs are extremely difficult because of their status as orphans. This kind of discrimination and cultural bias are unfortunately prevalent in Korea.

Yori Chunsa, meaning Chef Angels in Korean, is a non-profit organization I founded in 2016 to aid and support orphans in Korea. Our projects include a group of talented and devoted chefs cooking for orphans every week to introduce them to new flavors and ingredients. We will also be training these children to become line cooks and ultimately chefs through a mentorship/apprenticeship program. As chefs we know how rewarding our profession is and would love to share the knowledge and skills it takes to become one.

As of now I have funded this program myself but now I am asking friends for help. 100% of the proceeds go to the children. Let me know if you'd like to help.

보육원에서 생활하는 아이들은 성인, 18세가되면 보육원을 떠나 독립을 해야합니다. 하지만 이들이 성인이되어 독립할 수 있는 힘은 매우 제한되어있습니다.

이 문제를 해소하기위해 2016년에 비영리단체 요리천사를 설립하였습니다. 요리천사는 단체급식을 위주로 먹는 보육원 아이들에게 매주 우리나라 유명 레스토랑들의 음식을 제공하여 요리사란 꿈의 씨앗을 심어주는 것이 목적입니다.
우리나라 유명 레스토랑들이 협력하여 아이들이 직접 맛본 레스토랑에서 실습을 할 기회도 가질수있고 레스토랑의 요리사들과 함께 멘토/멘티 프로그램을 통해 진로상담도 할 수 있습니다.
