Hope Amidst the Rubble: Support Ahmed Rajab's Family in Gaza

Hello, everyone.

My name is Ahmed Rajab, a father of four. My journey of survival began when I was pulled from the rubble after a devastating bombing. I fought to stay alive for my wife and children, despite losing many of my family members. I am currently in northern Gaza, facing daily struggles and unimaginable hardships.

For the past nine months, my life in Gaza has been a series of unending tragedies. I have watched helplessly as family members were taken from me, one by one. Each day, I try to find solace and strength for my children , family and myself, mourning the loss of our beloved brothers, nephews, and nieces. The weight of these losses is crushing our spirits more and more each day.

I am haunted by the questions of my 5-year-old daughter, who asks me when Hind will wake up. I am Hind Rajab’s uncle, and every day I would walk to the area controlled by the occupiers, waiting for them to leave so I could bring her back to her mother. Her mother pleaded with me to return her. In the end, it was I who opened the car door and carried her lifeless body, covered in blood. The image of my dear Hind, the moment our house was bombed, and the screams of my family as part of them were killed and others injured are seared into my mind. Though I emerged from the rubble, the scars, both physical and emotional, remain.

My children often ask me for meat, a simple request that I cannot fulfill due to the soaring prices. It's heartbreaking to see their disappointment and hunger. This dire situation is what led me to start this campaign. I am exhausted, struggling to provide basic necessities such as food, water, and clothing for my family. Every day is a battle for survival, and the weight of my responsibility feels unbearable.

We need the funds not only to feed my children but to secure clean drinking water, which has become a luxury here. Medical supplies are another critical need, as injuries and illnesses are rampant, and access to proper healthcare is severely limited. Additionally, the money will help us rebuild some semblance of a home, providing my children with a safe and stable environment where they can feel secure despite the chaos around them.

I have chosen not to flee from the north to the south, and I reject the idea of leaving Gaza. This land is my home, and I will remain steadfast. However, the economic situation has made it nearly impossible to survive. I need your support to help meet my family’s needs amidst this unbearable inflation. Your generosity can provide us with food, clean water, medical supplies, and the means to start rebuilding our lives.
