Hope Chest for Kids Needs Your Help

Hope Chest for Kids is spearheading a fundraiser to assist one of our students.  He is a former refugee who came to the United States as a teenager alone, after devestation and trauma that is beyond comprehension,As an independent student, he has no familial support, financial or otherwise. It has been a group of caring individuals who have ensured that he has been able to make it through high school and now college. This summer, it was determined that he needed an intensive English Language program to bolster his skills. . Having never attended school prior to his arrival to the United States, he did not have any of the foundation in any language that would transfer to English. He does speak 5 languages, is hardworking, respectful and determined to help refugees in his future career. He has received a significant scholarship from UCONN that covers tuition, however he is still in need of financial support for housing and food.  The amount we are raising is to go directly to UCONN to cover this bill. He is attending the highly esteemed English language institute and will  emerge a stronger student and his English will be more competetive so that he can have the confidence to continue to learn.
